What is a master franchise?

When a franchise brand owner wishes to enter a new market he will first document what he has done to successfully build his franchise brand in his own domestic market. He will then choose which new international or regional market he wishes to enter.

The brand and system owner will then recruit a company or individual that will replicate, in the new market, what has been successfully achieved in the domestic market. The person or company that buys the rights to replicate the brand system in the new market is called the master franchisee/owner.

What does a master franchise owner do?

The master franchisee will be trained by the brand owner how to recruit his own franchisees. He will also be coached in how to train and support his own franchisee network. In this way the master franchisee can replicate the success already being achieved in the domestic market of the brand owner.

What does a master franchise cost?

There is no set fee. The cost of the master franchise will reflect the financial opportunity, the infrastructure, services and support you will receive. Ongoing royalty fees will also be set at a percentage that is agreed as reasonable for providing access to the system and ongoing training and support provided by Countrywide Signs.
